Education

  • Bachelors (BA), University of Pittsburgh
  • Master of Healthcare Innovation (MHI), The Ohio State University

Siatta's journey began in Monrovia, Liberia, where she witnessed the devastating effects of the Liberian civil war that forced her and her family to seek refuge in the US. It was during her formative years that she experienced and therefore became acutely aware of the injustices faced by marginalized communities. Driven by a deep desire for a more equitable society, Siatta made a vow to dedicate every effort to effecting positive change. For many years, she devoted her energy and expertise to the Department of Patient Access at the Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center assuming multiple positions that played a vital role in ensuring patients could navigate the complexities of the healthcare system with ease. In addition to her work in patient access, she assumed various responsibilities within hospital leadership where she skillfully managed teams within services such as environmental and nutrition services.

Siatta's personal experiences and commitment to equity have shaped her into an advocate for change. She is now channeling her energy into the Ohio Prison Education Exchange Project (OPEEP). Her involvement began with her support in student recruitment on the Newark campus. She currently supports community-oriented and student-engaged programming. Outside of OPEEP, Siatta remains deeply engaged in her community, actively collaborating with various organizations to drive meaningful and necessary change for the most underserved members of our community.
