In collaboration with OSU's Counseling & Consultation Service (CCS), the Ohio Prison Education Exchange Project (OPEEP) is holding a virtual workshop focusing on mental health and incarceration on Thursday, April 6th, 2023 from 1-2pm. The workshop will serve as a space for shared discussion and learning amongst OSU students who have been impacted by incarceration (directly or indirectly). Workshop facilitators include CCS Senior Staff Therapist Jerie Bolin, PsyD, Danya Contractor, B.A., CT and OPEEP Program Coordinator Babette Cieskowski, MFA.
Facilitators and students will work together during the workshop to process how to navigate mental well-being in the face of significant life stressors and stigma. Students are invited to drop in at any point to ask questions, share stories, and engage with peers and mental health professionals. Mental health professionals from CCS will be available to help students identify healthy coping strategies and develop positive mental health plans. Students will also receive information about the various mental health resources and support services available to them through OSU.
