OPEEP staff have been working diligently in recent months to expand our overall reach and engage more deeply with our communities by offering more events and programming, both on- and off-campus. So far in Autumn 2023, OPEEP directors, staff, and students have hosted and/or participated in the following events:
- Robin D.G. Kelley's Keynote Address "Freedom Dreams and US Democracy" (On-campus event, October 6th, 2023)
- Robin D.G. Kelley's visit with the Liberation At the Margins (LAM) Collective, OPEEP's learning community at the Ohio Reformatory for Women (October 7th, 2023)
- Panel discussion at 2023 National Women's Studies Association Conference, including full OPEEP staff and four incarcerated members of the LAM Collective (October 27th, 2023 in Baltimore, MD)
- Panel discussion at 2023 National Conference on Higher Education in Prison, including full OPEEP staff (November 10th, 2023 in Atlanta, GA)
- Re-entry and Higher Education Panel Discussion with formerly incarcerated OSU students and alumni, on-campus event co-sponsored by OPEEP and the Global Arts and Humanities Discovery Theme (November 14th, 2023)
