What is Project PEER?
Project PEER was founded in 2021 as an OPEEP satellite student organization by the 2024 class of Eminence Fellows. Project PEER's mission is to engage in open dialogue with incarcerated individuals and support currently and formerly incarcerated students to achieve their educational goals in the most accessible ways for them. Though Project PEER was formed by the Eminence Fellows, membership is open to all OSU students and serves as a fantastic opportunity to get involved with OPEEP or remain involved after taking an OPEEP course! Interested students can also apply to join Project PEER's new Learning Community at Madison Correctional Institution in London, OH by completing this online form.
New Project PEER Learning Community at Madison Correctional Institution
The E-Board is pleased to announce that we will be starting our very own prison learning community at Madison Correctional Institution (MaCI) in London, OH beginning this upcoming fall semester. We’re looking for volunteers to join us at MaCI and participate in our collaborative learning community which focuses on current issues in the world today. Through open and rigorous discussion and regular readings, we will engage in productive discussion about important topics and simultaneously work to create equity and space for incarcerated perspectives. If this sounds interesting to you, please join us!
More details are provided in THIS FORM, which you can fill out to apply for our Learning Community. Applications are due by May 1 at 11:55 pm. Please reach out to sunderhaft.2@osu.edu if you have any questions about the application.
We really hope you’ll apply to join us in this Learning Community next fall – we’d love to have you.
Best,
The Project PEER E-Board
